In accordance with Regulation 2 of Article 30 of the Water Supply and Waterworks Installation Act, the Tap Water Evaluation Committee was formed for the purpose of obtaining advice on the operation of waterworks facilities and the evaluation and management/maintenance of tap water quality. The committee is made up of and operated solely by private citizens, including experts such as professors, social organizations, as well as members of the general population such as housewives.
The committee regularly conducts inspections of tap water quality, the results of which are published on the Office of Waterworks homepage and city/county office newsletters. Since inspections first began in 1991, the tap water of Daegu has never once received a poor rating. Since the Tap Water Evaluation Committee is constantly inspecting and evaluating the quality of Daegu’s tap water, the citizens of Daegu need not be concerned about the quality of their drinking water.
